What do you love most about your job as Administrative Wizard?
What I love most about working at ABS as an Administrative Wizard is the great team we have! Everyone is very knowledgeable and they are always there to help you out if you are stuck with any issue, without hesitation!
What inspired you to join the team at ABS?
To tell you the truth, what inspired me to join ABS was when I saw the job posting, the title of Administrative Wizard caught my eye! In the posting it also described the company’s core values, which was something you don’t usually see posted. Also, the icing on the cake was having Friday’s off, no complaints about that!
What most surprised you about working here?
What surprised me most about working at ABS, was how batteries can play such an
important role in any type of application or industry out there! Typically, I was used to
small batteries that are used for your everyday product, but now I know that batteries
can be used for industries like oil & gas, wind & solar, switchgear and so on!
What do you think sets you apart in your field?
I think what sets me apart in this role is my knowledge and experience from my past career positions, mostly my last position where I was one of the owner/operators of our family business for 15 years. With our business I was responsible for staffing, customer service, accounting and all the marketing and creative initiatives, amongst everything else in between!
What challenges have you faced in your position?
The only real challenges that I faced in my position was learning our inventory/accounting program and trying to remember our customer codes. Once I was able to get the hang of things, it was smooth sailing!
Who are some of your biggest influences?
My biggest influences are my parents. They immigrated from Italy back in the 70’s with a suitcase and a dream and were able to give my sisters and I a better opportunity here in Canada. They have taught us many great values and have always showed us love and support on whatever we do!
What would your perfect weekend look like?
The perfect weekend would be cooking up a traditional Italian meal and having my WHOLE family come over to enjoy. The only issue with this is it can get pretty loud with everyone talking!
What’s your favorite type of food or cuisine?
When it comes to food, I’m pretty open to trying anything! I do enjoy Asian or Mexican food if I really had to choose.
Describe an interesting hobby or pastime that you have.
An interesting hobby or pastime I have is gardening and making fresh jam from our fruit trees. I also love cooking and baking, especially trying out new recipes!
What’s something surprising that not many people know about you?
Something surprising some people might not know about me is that my dream was to be a fashion designer and go to school in Milan! I do love to sew and when my daughter figure skated, I would create and sew her competition dresses.
If you could travel anywhere, where would you go and why?
The two places on my bucket list to travel to are Bora Bora and to take a train across Canada to visit every province.
